Google accidentally revealed the currently unreleased Pixel 4a smartphone through an official render uploaded to the Google Store website. Although the company has yet to officially announce when it will unveil its latest mid-range phone, the Pixel 4a has been expected to arrive for some time. Following this latest 'leak,' that unveiling might be taking place sooner rather than later.

The Pixel phone series is Google’s attempt to offer a first-party Android smartphone experience for those who want one. With the main Pixel phones being premium devices and coming with an equally expensive price tag attached, Google launched the Pixel 3a (and 3a XL) in 2019 to offer consumers a more affordable smartphone option. However, Google has recently discontinued manufacturing of the Pixel 3a series, resulting in a mid-range gap in its lineup.
Google accidentally uploaded an image of the Pixel 4a to the customer side of its Canadian Google Store, as spotted by 9to5 Google. It remains unclear how long the image was live for, although the image has since been removed. The official render was used as part of the marketing for its Nest line of products, which further goes to highlight the accidental nature of the Pixel 4a reveal. While the image does not necessarily give any new information away, it does provide a good, and official, look at the device, as well as adding to the suggestion that Google might be preparing to launch the Pixel 4a soon.
