Disney could announce a new release date for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier soon. Marvel Studios has spent the last eleven years conquering the big screen and the box office while making the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now, thanks to the launch of Disney+, Marvel is scheduled to make multiple MCU shows for the streaming service. These shows, unlike Agents of SHIELD and all other recent Marvel shows, will be heavily tied to the movies and the ongoing narrative.
Marvel's Disney+ era was scheduled to begin in August with the release of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, which brings Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan back as their MCU heroes. However, the series suffered multiple setbacks during production, including getting shut down in March due to coronavirus. The Falcon and The Winter Soldier hasn't been able to resume filming since that point. Fans continued to get nervous that the series would get delayed as a result, and it was recently confirmed that the show would not be released in August anymore.
The news that The Falcon and The Winter Soldier has been delayed left MCU fans wondering when the show will arrive on Disney+, as no new date has been announced. But, EW is reporting that a source involved in the matter confirmed the delay and indicated that a new release date could be announced soon. No actual time table for the new date has been revealed at this time, though

Without knowing for sure when Marvel and Disney will give an update on The Falcon and The Winter Soldier's release, there are a few possibilities. Fans can rule out an announcement coming during San Diego Comic-Con's online convention since Marvel Studios is not holding a virtual panel. Instead, a new release date could be revealed during Disney's next earnings call on August 4, as that is where the original August confirmation came. If Marvel does do their own virtual fan experience (like DC FanDome), then it is also possible that the new date could be revealed then.

The announcement of a new release date for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will likely only be determined once Marvel has a grasp on when production can finish. The show reportedly has nine days of filming left in the Czech Republic before it will be wrapped. Marvel is cleared to resume production, but there are so far no signs that filming has returned, or when it might. Currently, the show is listed as "Coming Fall 2020" on Disney+. If that window can't be met, then The Falcon and The Winter Soldier could wind up coming out in the winter. Hopefully, it won't be too long before Marvel provides us with an update.
